It’s a 2017 GTI S with a manue l transmission. Only 16,200 miles and a great price. I am so excited! Waiting around for the finance guy to get the papers ready then I’m going to take the scenic route home.

Nice car! One question, however - did you get the extended warranty? You’re gonna need it...

Very nice! Welcome to the club. Does the GTI replace or supplement the Cama ro?

Nice! Congrats.

Modern turbo cars are crazy. The fact that you can get those kinds of gains by tweaking some software is mind boggling.

Congrats! I need to go test drive one of these.

VW motors especially!
My VW fanboi friends tell me that the GTI motor is basically a R motor with a smaller turbo. Thus, gaining 50bhp (for a 10 year old car ) is very easy for them.

Red stripe adds hp, so good deal. Congrats.

Congrats! The more manuals on the road the merrier.

The E uropean brands seem to like to use the same engine with various tunes in order to hit a bunch of different power levels for different models and trims.

That’s nearly exactly my car. I have a 16 SE 6MT with the Performance package, but I made my dealer swap the S-trim plaid cloth seats into the car for me.
I’ve put just under 23k on mine in just under three years of ownership. If you’re going to mod, I’d look into the removing the “clutch fluid delay valve”, removing the clutch return spring, and doing a turbo muffler delete.
I haven’t gotten a tune on mine yet, as I find it plenty fast enough. What I want is more aggressive turn-in, so I will do either a rear sway bar upgrade, suspension, or both at some point.
Also, Android Auto support absolutely sucks; so I hope you use an iPhone. At least on my 20
16, my Android phone has issues every single time I try to use Android Auto. I know VW updated the infotainment system after my car was built, so I hope you got that upgrade.

Excellent choice. Congrats!

I don’t think a tune will be necessary for me either. I was surprised at how fast it is. When I need a little more speed I’ve got my Camaro still.
I do use an iPhone and CarPlay seems nice so far.

Supplement. Replaces my 1994 Saturn as the daily driver.

I did not. It is still under factory warranty. Ialso have vagcom and some experience working on a VW. I’ll be fine.

It really is. The shifter slides into the next gear so nicely.

Do it. Fantastic car.

Sweet! Let us know what it's like to drive :)

It’s freaking great! I had no idea it would be so fast. Not much slower than my Camaro. Feels light and nimble. Steering has a nice weight to it. I’ll do a detailed post after I have more time with it.

CarPlay is fantastic. Apple, nor Google, is perfect at making a mobile OS. But CarPlay is legitimately superb.
